Words Matter

S - But I tell you that men will have to give an account on the day of judgement for every careless word they have spoken. Matthew 12:36

O - Words matter. They matter so much to God that we'll have to give an account for every word that we've carelessly spoken. That's going to take some serious time in my case! Fortunately I know that Jesus died to forgive me and that I have no condemnation in Christ. I think that if there is judgement still for Christians it will be seeing my careless words and then rejoicing in Christ's forgiveness. I'll be declared guilty but forgiven - punishment paid in full by Jesus.

A - Words matter. I must be careful how I speak today. I will use my words to build up, to say sorry, and to make promises I will keep. I will use my words for good not evil. Today I will live with the heightened awareness that God hears each word I speak and they matter.

P - Father, thank-you that I can speak words. Help me speak words for good today. Amen

  1. Matt 12:43...This evil nation is like a man possessed by a demon. For if the demon leaves it goes into the deserts for a while- seeking rest but finding none. Then it says 'I will return to the man I came from. So it returns and finds the mans heart clean but empty! Then the demon finds 7 other spirits more evil than itself, and all enter the man and live in him. And so he is worse off then before.
Oh Lord- let it not be so in me or anyone else from WDBC, give us all passion to want to know You more, and the wisdom to know You can speak 2 us and transform our lives into ones filled with 'joy' as we get to know You more through Your Word, circumstances, others and the beauty of all You have placed around us. You live in and through each one of us that has learned our need for You and asked You to take control. Fill us with Your goodness, kindness, love and selfless-ness so You may be magnified in our lives, and passion for love and truth can permiate from our lives- drawing others to You. As You clean us- may You also fill us, with all good things- which come from You. You alone are worthy of anything and everything we may have to give. I love You Father.

  2. 3 DAYS 3 NIGHTS
Matthew 12:40 'For as Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.'
Jesus is talking to the Pharisees and teachers of the law who know the old testament by memory. How confused they must have been to hear Jesus say he was greater than Jonah, and further on Jesus was greater than Solomon, wise Solomon. Jesus was explaining on a level they should have understood. But no, my heart sinks when Jesus Says He will be 3 days 3 nights in the heart of the earth. because this is the death he suffered for me.
Jesus went to the Cross for all mankind, even me, He did it to take all my sins and the sins of the nations. To restore me to God in such a way where our relationship is alive.
Thank you Jesus for going to the cross for me - for revealing yourself to me.
    Praise you Jesus.
I worship you and lift up your Holy Name.
Let all Heaven rejoice that Jesus is the Son of God.
    Amen

  3. Sunday Sep 6 Matthew 13
Jesus spoke parables and even his followers didn't understand! - But as soon as they asked Him- "what does that mean?" He showed them plainly. Isn't that similar to the whole Bible!_ Unbelievers could read and think 'it's all foolishness and it makes no sense'- just as we- even believers can do at times- having no idea what it says. The difference is- we know God, we talk to Him - and we can ask Him- and He will reveal what He wants to say- Isn't that awesome! Isn't God incredible!- Hidding and revealing His treasure to those that know and love him!
So the key for us- are not to be 'sleepy' like the farmer was in one parable (and the enemy came in through the night and and sowed thorns among the good seed) But to be awake- spiritually and fan the fire (the passion) within us- how do we do that? We open The Word and read and.... wait for it.,.. Ask God- "what does it mean?" ! Ask and you shall receive! If we open and read His Word and ask Him to speak to us- He WILL!! The fact of the matter is- He loves us and wants to communicate that!
